When I drive to Notting Hill to visit Portobello Road Market, I can’t help take in some of the delightfully painted homes in the area.
I don’t know why it became the fashion to paint houses around here – maybe it’s the affluent and bohemian nature of the place – but it certainly puts a smile on your face.
In some streets, the Victorian cottages are pastel in colour giving a lovely gentle feel, while others such as Lancaster Road, townhouses have been given a vivid treatment creating a more vibrant feel.
Anyway, it makes a wander or drive through here certainly a pleasurable one.
