This highly decorated Art deco building on the corner of Fulham Road comes as a very pleasant surprise. Built for the Michelin Company in 1911, what a sight it must have been! Classy Tyre fitting bays at the front and over 30,000 tyres stored in the basement which were brought up by lift. There was even a ‘touring office’ where waiting customers could buy the famous Michelin maps to help plan their journeys. The building was sold in 1985 to Terence Conran who opened a stylish restaurant.
