The garden squares of Mayfair make this part of London special.
Built in the early 1700’s as the city spread west, they were designed to create a more healthy living space for it’s wealthy residents. They were also places for the upper classes to go promenading, to see and be seen. Of all Mayfair’s squares, Berkeley Square is my favourite.
The London Plane trees here are over 300 years old and dominate the square. Just imagine what they would have borne witness to over the decades!
