This impressive triumphal Arch, finished in 1912, is the royal gateway from Trafalgar Square to Buckingham Palace.
The building was originally used by the Admiralty as offices and the central arch is the royal arch used by the Queen, while we mere mortals use the side arches. The Latin inscription at the top is a dedication to Queen Victoria from her son Edward VII.

Controversially, the arch was sold a few years back to a Spanish hotel group and will eventually reopen as luxury apartments and a five star hotel .
