One of my favourite Squares and the best preserved Georgian Square in London. It was built between 1776-80 and is sandwiched between Bloomsbury Street and Tottenham Court Road. It was the first Square to feature harmonious, architectural uniformity, setting the fashion for all future Georgian Garden Squares. Originally the Square would have gates and lodges to ensure the privacy of the residents, but today it consists mostly of offices, and like many Squares in London, the gardens unfortunately, are for residents only.
